“We Are Making Chicken Change From Music In Ghana” – Camidoh

Ghanaian Afropop, R&B, and Afrobeats musician Raphael Camidoh Kofi Attachie known by the stage name Camidoh said musicians in Ghana are not making much money as they should.

In an interview on Hitz FM, Camidoh said that Ghanaian musicians should be making more from music than they are currently making. ” We should be making more from music than we are right now. We are making chicken change”.

“Let’s just say Sony music wants to sign an artist in Ghana the same artist of that caliber in Nigeria the money they will call for firsthand is not the same money they call for Ghana artists I’m not playing. Because I feel like upon traveling around the world I’m realizing that bro there’s more we should be making out of this music than we are making right now. we are actually making just chicken change bro.” he said.

He continued by saying that if they were to become more successful in the music industry, they would be able to appreciate DJs playing their songs by giving them a significant amount of money.

“So I’m feeling like we just need to big it up all so if I am giving tip I will give proper tip. Plenty Ghanaian artists can’t throw money in traffic because he does not have it, he is just famous but doesn’t have the money. So I just feel like it time to get up me, Kidi, Mr. Drew, everyone should get up it’s not about us but it’s about growing the system but if you alone want to do it you can’t, because you alone cannot compete against the whole nation I just want more for us to be out. my prayer is for more of us to be out there
