We Are Suffering- GH Lookalike Association

The lookalikes of mainstream artists including King Promise, Mr Drew and Medikal, who collectively call themselves the Lookalike Association, have said in a new interview that they are suffering financially.

They said in a one-on-one interview with blogger and journalist Attractive Mustapha that they thought the buzz shrouding their persona, having carved a niche from the relevance of the aforementioned mainstream artists, would augur well for them financially, but sadly, the opposite is what holds true for them.

They swiftly stated that they are currently seeking financial backers and a management team to help them in their artistic activities. “Some things if like management come inside it will be easier and simpler for us” they told the blogger during a recent interview.

They also explained that they are no longer doing the look alike things but because that is what shot them to fame people cannot describe them without it. For now we have our song out and we are planning to release an album, an EP and single projects so that’s where our focus is “

Relatedly, in the words of King Promise’s lookalike, Medikal is jealous of him and his friends of doppelgangers because they have succeeded in getting more attention from females.

The young man went on Instagram to criticize Medikal for disparaging him and other impersonators of other GH artists.

He claimed Medikal was insulting him with his jawline because he is envious of his current success. The impersonator boasted that one of his achievements was having more girls exclusively to himself.

He claimed that Medikal envied him because all the girls were now fixated on the lookalikes. The reason the celebrities hadn’t taken legal action against those who had used their music in humorous or even profit-making films on social media was another issue he asked them about.

Recall that Medikal has already issued a warning regarding young males who display themselves as impersonators of particular superstars. In a video shared on social media, Medikal asserted that attention has shifted away from musicians who toiled painstakingly to develop their music and toward others who impersonate and profit from artists with the appearance of star lookalikes.

According to Medikal, musicians would be thrilled if someone claimed to resemble them, but these lookalikes’ exploitative behavior toward the artists and their work has crossed the line. The rapper suggested that the young men develop their own sources of revenue instead.

“If you claim to look like me and so want to live like me, fine then find money. Because Medikal is always looking for money,

I am always preaching about money, telling people to grind, not to give up, to forget everybody and keep going hard, so why are you online asking for MOMO? Because Medickal doesn’t come on live to ask for MOMO.”
