Feehily disclosed that he has been facing ongoing medical issues since undergoing surgery in August 2020, which led to complications including severe sepsis. Over the past three and a half years, he has endured treatment in a hospital intensive care unit, a diagnosis of pneumonia, and the development of a significant “incisional hernia” that required surgical correction.

In a statement posted on Instagram, Feehily expressed regret over his decision to step away from Westlife’s touring commitments until he fully recuperates from his health struggles. He emphasized the importance of prioritizing his recovery and thanked his family, bandmates, and medical team for their support.

The singer will miss the remaining shows of The Wild Dreams Tour, which has been ongoing since 2022, including upcoming performances in the US and South America starting from March 11.

Feehily’s health challenges have previously caused him to miss shows in 2022 due to pneumonia. Despite these setbacks, the remaining members of Westlife – Shane Filan, Kian Egan, and Nicky Byrne – pledged to continue representing the band with enthusiasm while wishing Feehily a speedy recovery.

Westlife, formed in 1998 and originally including Brian McFadden, enjoyed immense success before disbanding in 2012. They reunited in 2018 without McFadden, embarking on a new chapter in their musical journey.
