Why I Stopped Eating Meat- Adina Narrates

During an interview with Hammer Nti on Pure FM Kumasi’s Hammer Time show, Adina disclosed the reason behind her decision to stop consuming meat.

The talented musician shared that she had to undergo surgery due to her fibroid diagnosis, which prompted her to give up meat. Adina also mentioned that her fibroid caused her to appear pregnant, but she persevered with her music career despite her concerns.

“I stopped eating meat after I went for surgery to remove a fibroid from my body. I did that because, after the surgery, I went to look at it and it was like meat”.Adina told Hammer Nti on the show Hammer Time.

“I was told red meat contributes to the development of fibroid so I’m like I have to stop. I don’t know how true it is but since 2021, I haven’t eaten red meat”, she stressed.

Fibroids are abnormal growths that develop in or on the uterus.

Sometimes these tumors become quite large and cause severe abdominal pain and heavy periods. In most cases, they cause no signs or symptoms at all.

The growths are typically benign, or noncancerous. The cause of fibroids is unknown.

Adina’s real name is Adina Thembi Ndamse. She is Ghanaian-South African singer, songwriter, actress and model. She was the winner of music reality show Stars of the Future in 2008.

Her eighth music single titled “Too Late” won her two awards – Record of the Year and Best Female Vocalist of the Year at the 2018 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards in Ghana. In March 2021, she was among the Top 30 Most Influential Women in Music by the 3Music Awards Women’s Brunch.
