With The Construction Of Ghana Gas’s Second Processing Plant, 1,500 New Employment Would Be Created

Ghana National Gas Company(GNGC) is the leading gas company in Ghana.

Ghana gas is responsible for gathering, processing, marketing, and transporting natural gas resources. The new construction of a second processing plant by Ghana Gas will ensure the continued employment of 1,500 people.

Ghana gas has played a significant role in the economy by saving Ghana millions of cedis and contributing to the country’s power generation. GNGC produces natural gas and gas-based resources for domestic, commercial, and industrial use.

The ceremony took place in Accra at the Gas House Forecourt. The Gas Processing Plant is designed to handle up to 300 MMscfd of gas per day, meaning it will initially have a capacity of 150 MMscfd to accommodate the gas production from the Jubilee and TEN fields.

At the occasion, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, chairman of the GNGC board, said that the work being done will boost the company’s efficiency and help the government forward its mission of industrialisation.

He said “This plan is aimed at among other things strengthening and enhancing the mandate of Ghana gas as the sole state agency tasked to build, own and operate the infrastructure required for the gathering, processing, transporting and marketing of natural gas resource in Ghana.”

“One of the most important parts of this plant is building a second gas processing plant, called GPP Tranin-2, to handle the extra natural gas from our upstream partners.”

“Ghana gas is ready and willing to play a leading role in capturing and diversifying its use for the country’s social and economic growth”.
