From Nairobi’s capital city, Xtatic launched her career in 2012 with an independently produced music video titled “The Prep Track” that grabbed the attention of major recording label Sony/RCA. Eventually, Xtatic would secure a multi-album deal with Sony, making her the first Kenyan artist to sign a deal of this magnitude.
The debut single “Wild” displayed Xtatic’s witty and aggressive style, demonstrating that a female hip-hop artiste can be just as aggressive as her male counterpart. Not until her second album “Hit ‘Em Up” did Kenya, South Africa, and other nations begin to give attention to the twenty-three-year-old rap sensation.
