You Can’t Stop Me- Davido Tells Pinnick Over Warri Ban

Davido has issued a response to the allegations made against him by former President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Amaju Pinnick, regarding his failure to fulfil a contractual agreement after receiving payment.

Pinnick publicly stated that Davido declined to appear at the 19th edition of the Warri Again festival in Delta State, despite receiving a substantial payment of over $94,600 (equivalent to approximately N72 million).

Additionally, the event organizers had arranged for a private jet, costing $18,000, to transport the artist to the performance venue in Warri, Delta State. Expressing his dissatisfaction, Pinnick conveyed his intention to impart a lesson to Davido, as he believed the artist was displaying an excessive level of arrogance, despite not possessing a greater stature in the industry compared to Burna Boy.

Speaking in Pidgin, he said; “We paid Davido $94,600 on the 6th of April. We paid $18,000 for his plane. If im say him be big boy, we go tell am say we Big pass am.

“I’m not joking. So, why he was playing his games back and forth, we decided to hunt to find another artist, Shallipopi.

“You see when people say dem big, I just dey laugh. The biggest artiste in Nigeria today, no be Burna Boy? Burna Boy is half Itsekiri. Burna Boy’s paternal grandmother is Itsekiri. So, he big pass am.

“Anybody fit big pass RMD for acting industry? Anybody fit big pass Ali Baba for comedy? Warri na back to back we get dem. Nobody fit big pass Warri.”

But the DMW CEO slung shade at the previous leader of the Glass House; NFF headquarters in a series of curt replies on his official Twitter profile. Davido boasted in another tweet that no one could prevent him from doing a performance anywhere in Nigeria.

Davido wrote; “Throwing stones but u dey live for glass house.” “Nobody can stop me from performing anywhere in Nigeria… Warri I will see you soon” He also posted a picture of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, logo with the caption; “Make I no talk.”
