‘You Touched The Wrong Person’ – Asamoah Gyan Issues Stern Warning to Cyberbully, Bongo Ideas

On Tuesday, February 21, 2023, legendary Ghanaian player Asamoah Gyan blasted Bongo Ideas, a well-known troll and cyberbully who operates mainly on Twitter.

Asamoah Gyan threatened the troll in a now-deleted post over the troll’s comments on the death of Ghanaian footballer Christian Atsu.

On Monday, February 6, 2023, an earthquake struck parts of Turkey and Syria, killing thousands of people. Atsus was one of them and On Saturday, February 18, 2023, Christian Atsu’s body was recovered from the wreckage of the building he had been trapped in for more than 12 days, thereby proving that he had died there.

Once the body arrived on Sunday, February 19, the family announced that the funeral would be conducted on Monday, March 4, 2023, exactly one week after the footballer’s death.

After making light of Atsu’s death in a series of tweets, Bongo crossed a line when he said that Atsu was haunting him from beyond the grave. Gyan, one of Atsu’s closest friends, was devastated by Bongo’s cruel remarks. Gyan warned Bongo that he had “messed with the wrong people” in a stern Instagram post. In a further warning, Gyan stated that he will track down Bongo and make him pay for his remarks.

“Somebody tell that stupid fool that I will definitely find him. You will get the attention you want,” Gyan said while sending a signal that by the time he is done with the troll, his mother “will not even recognise you”.

In response to Asamoah Gyan’s comments, Bongo denied making any direct comments about Gyan, as some Twitter users have suggested, and has said that he did not mean to offend anyone with his tweets.

He also called on Ghana Police Service to hold Asamoah Gyan responsible for any physical harm that happens to him.

“The pain of being kicked out of the Black Stars is making him attack me unprovoked. I’ve said nothing to him, and even until today, I didn’t know he existed. He has shamefully deleted the post but over to you Ghana Police Service. Hold him responsible for any physical harm I suffer” he said.
