5 Admissions Sarkodie Made In Strongly-Worded reply To Yvonne Nelson

Sarkodie succeded in setting the internet on fire when he finally decided to address Yvonne Nelson’s ‘I am not Yvonne Nelson’ with a retaliatory diss song dubbed Try Me.

The revered Ghanaian rapper who is officially the most decorated rapper on the African continent, in a potpourri of emotions raging from sentiment, and musical dexterity sent Yvonne Nelson to the cleaners for citing him in her book and claiming he coerced to abort her baby when he impregnated her.

The song is still trending and dividing opinions across the internet landscape. Here at Tru News Report, we want to dissect the components of Sarkodie’s Try Me song highlighting the concessions he made in the seemingly disparaging song aimed at Yvonne Nelson.

1. Sarkodie gives thumbs to Yvonne Nelson for her bravery

The opening verse was preluded with a thumbs up for Yvonne Nelson for going to this length to share her frustrations in this artistically. Sarkodie literally said he’s clapping for Yvonne Nelson for taking this bold step but finds it disturbing that she did cherry-picking; by choosing and taking only the most beneficial part.

2. Yes, Yvonne and I dated

As the song progresses, Sarkodie admits that he won’t deny the fact that he and Yvonne Nelson dated, obviously around the same time that he was with Tracy whom he went on to marry and bear two children with. He further suggested that if Yvonne Nelson had remained loyal, their relationship could have possibly blossomed. But we are still scratching our heads as we wonder what could have been the fate of Tracy premised on this statement from Obidi.

3. Sarkodie accepts responsibility for Yvonne Nelson’s pregnancy

One of the most conspicuous facets of the song was when Sarkodie mentioned that despite Yvonne Nelson’s promiscuity, he accepted responsibility for her pregnancy but she insisted she wanted to get rid of it as it was getting in the way of her education.

4. Yvonne Nelson had wanted to meet me before the release of her book

I am not yvonne nelson

This was loosely misconstrued when he said Yvonne Nelson wanted to set him up once again not too long ago. Apparently, the actress and filmmaker had wanted to meet Sarkodie to inform him about her forthcoming book (this is my own interpretation). Thus she arranged for a meeting at her residence but Sarkodie declined the invitation saying he knew she had an ulterior motive.

5. Sarkodie praises Yvonne Nelson’s ingenuity in making money from the book

Ultimately, Sarkodie praised his former lover for taking advantage of the situation and making money off it. He also mentioned that he’s about to get a copy of the book and read which means more money for her.

Meanwhile, check out the reactions to the banter between Sarkodie and Yvonne Nelson that has caused an uproar on Twitter and other social media platforms.
