5 Ghanaian Artistes Popular Lawyer Cynthia Quarcoo Represented Before She Died
Tru News Report on Wednesday broke the news of the sad passing of Cynthia Quarcoo, a celebrity legal practitioner who also acted as Sarkodie’s official lawyer.
Cynthia was the first to create a niche entertainment, sports, and media practice inside her Ghanaian law business, so her passing is a major blow to the entertainment sector as well.
Before her death, she had over 15 years of experience representing institutional clients and governments. Cynthia is an experienced corporate/commercial lawyer with extensive banking, finance and capital markets experience with specialization in the energy, financial and infrastructure sectors and ESG.
Additionally, Cynthia served as a legal advisor to the Musicians Union of Ghana, dedicating two years to this pro bono role. In this report, Tru News Report has listed the names of other Ghanaian musicians she provided legal consultation and representation for.
Sarkodie
Sarkodie is a Ghanaian rapper, songwriter, and entrepreneur from Tema.[3] His contributions to the Ghanaian music industry have earned him numerous accolades, including the Vodafone Ghana Music Award for “Artiste of the Decade”.
At the 2019 BET Hip Hop Awards, he was declared the inaugural winner of BET’s Best International Flow Artist category. He is also regarded as one of the leading exponents of Azonto music and dance, as well as one of the greatest African rappers ever.
Stonebwoy
He runs Burniton Music Group as its CEO. He was named Artist of the Year at the 2015 Ghana Music Awards as well as Best International Act: Africa at the 2015 BET Awards. He has also been awarded two Billboard plaques. He has been referred to as Africa’s reggae and dance hall king.
With roles in the films Happy Death Day and My Name is Ramadan, Stonebwoy is also an actress. He serves as a global sanitization ambassador. He was appointed the Voltic Natural Mineral Water brand ambassador in September 2019. He represents the Tecno mobile brand in Ghana.
Reggie Rockstone
He invented the Hiplife art and was a key figure in Ghana’s development of this distinctly African form. He raps in both English and Akan Asante Twi. In 2004, Rockstone and Shaggy gave a performance in front of 50,000 people in Ghana after receiving the Kora Award for the best African video.
He collaborated with Jamaican Dancehall musician Beenie Man in 2006 to release a song titled “Chukku Chakka” (a play on Rockstone’s 1999 hit “Eye Mo De Anaa,” which sampled Fela Kuti). The 2007 film “Living the Hiplife” (directed by Jesse Weaver Shipley) includes a segment about Rockstone.
Samini
Samini has put out seven studio albums, all of which have done very well in the marketplace. After the release of his debut single, Linda, and following guest spots on other well-known singles by other musicians, Samini gained popularity and notoriety. Samini was en-skinned as a Chief in his hometown on December 13, 2018. He was awarded the title “Pebilii Naa,” which in Wa means “King of the Rocks,” by the WaNaa (Paramount Chief of Wa).

Some of these collaborations, including Chingam by Sarkodie, One of Your Own by Efya, Pimpinaa by Obrafour, etc., were self-produced by Bisa Kdei in his studio.
