AFCON 2023: Kudus Grabs Man of the Match After Brace Against Egypt

Ghanaian attacker Mohammed Kudus has been awarded the Man of the Match title for his outstanding performance in the Black Stars’ 2-2 draw against Egypt in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

Kudus, who plays for West Ham, stood out as a key player for Ghana during the match at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium in Abidjan.

He showcased his skills with 41 touches, an impressive 91% passing accuracy, one key pass, two shots on target, four successful long balls, and one blocked shot.

The West Ham midfielder made a significant impact just before halftime, capitalizing on a precise pass from Samed Salis to score a powerful shot, bringing excitement to Ghanaian fans.

In the second half, Kudus displayed his versatility by skillfully curling in his second goal after receiving a sublime pass from Denis Odoi.

Despite the draw, with Egypt scoring through Omar Marmoush and Mostafa Mohamed in the 69th and 74th minutes, respectively, Kudus’s performance earned him the Man of the Match recognition.
