Akufo-Addo’s Driver Elected NPP’s La Dadekotopon Parliamentary Candidate

President Akufo-Addo’s long-serving driver, Joseph Addo has won the New Patriotic Party’s parliamentary candidate primaries for La Dadekotopon, securing 664 votes.

His main opponent, Solomon Kotey Niikio, garnered 555 votes.

The NPP’s National Executive Committee authorized the primary following the resignation of the previously elected candidate, Dr. Gerald Joseph Tetteh.

Addo, who has been with President Akufo-Addo for more than two decades, declared his candidacy after Tetteh’s departure.

Recently, Addo generously gifted the party an office complex on Ako Adjei Road, addressing the party’s need for a permanent headquarters as they previously operated from a rented space.

Addo emphasized that his donation was aimed at supporting the party’s efforts to secure victory over the NDC in the constituency. In the 2020 election, the NPP lost the La Dadekotopon seat to the NDC’s Rita Naa Odoley Sowah.
