“Annoh Dompreh Calls Party Chairmen To Tell Them I Am Not Presidential Material” – Kennedy Agyapong

Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, a candidate for the presidency of the New Patriotic Party, has spoken out against an alleged plot by Frank Annoh Dompreh, the chief whip of the majority party in parliament, to sabotage his presidential bid.

The MP for Assin Central claims that the party whip is going around, questioning the motives of party chairmen who have thrown their support behind Kennedy Agyapong on the grounds that he is unqualified to serve as president.

“Annoh Dompreh, who is the Majority Whip in parliament, has the effrontery to call chairmen to tell them that you are supporting Kennedy Agyapong; he is not presidential material,” he claimed.

Speaking to NPP delegates in the Ashanti Region, Kennedy Agyapong questioned the chief whip’s reasoning for calling him unpresidential.

Kennedy Agyapong claimed he was a better candidate and that his track record as a successful businessman demonstrated his ability to lead Ghana through growth if he were chosen flagbearer and then president.

He stated that, unlike the other candidates, he will not buy his way into office but will instead devote himself to the best interests of the party’s delegates.

The NPP will hold its flagbearer election on November 4, 2023, to prepare for the 2024 presidential election. Kennedy Aggyapong, Vice President Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, and Alan Kyrematen are among the candidates that have emerged as frontrunners.
