An Argentinian female football player, Florencia Guinazu is dead after she was strangled by her ex-husband, Ignacio Agustín Notto, who later took his own life inside her apartment.
The heartbreaking incident unfolded as their two young sons, aged five and seven, were left unattended in the apartment, playing PlayStation. Notto left a note on the window urging neighbours to call 911 as the children were alone.
The eldest son tried to reach his parents in the locked master bedroom, where the gruesome murder occurred, before eventually alerting a neighbour who contacted the authorities.
Upon entering the room, Guinazu was discovered lifeless on the floor, while Notto had also ended his own life. The autopsy report confirmed that Guinazu died from asphyxiation due to strangulation.
This devastating event occurred just months after Guinazu had filed a complaint against Notto, leading to a restraining order being issued.
Despite no further complaints being made, the tragic outcome unfolded on that fateful Saturday.
Guinazu’s club took to Instagram to post a message regarding the murder. They said: ‘Florencia Guinazu was a player in the First Division of Women’s Soccer 11 of the Club Atlético Argentino.
