At This Point, No Feature Can Give Me Sleepless Nights – Sarkodie Speaks After Bob Marley Collab
Sarkodie is in a buyout following his historic collaboration on an old track by Bob Marley which will be released on Friday.
Shortly after Island Records announced officially on social media that they have recruited Sarkodie to lend his vocals on the remix of Stir Up, an old classic by the legendary Bob Marley.
To reinforce this new development, Sarkodie reshared an old interview with OnePlayAfrican wherein he talked about how different milestones constituted pivotal points in his career.
Sarkodie said that while his goals have changed over time, his fans may still be clamoring for things that he has no interest in, citing his first performance, first hit song, first collaboration, and first award as successes in his musical career.
“There are highs at every level. Being on a platform performing, that was a high. Having a hit song on the radio, that was a high. Collaborations, that was a high.
Awards, that was a high. “At this point, the sad news, which is the truth, is that my high is not really there. I can see the fans still stuck on certain things they want me to do. The fans want me to do stuff that, honestly, personally, I don’t find fun in it. They talk about collaborations and others.”
Sarkodie stated that he has attained a peak at which he lets development happen naturally without being aggressive.
He said that by working hard and hanging out with the right people, he does not worry about certain things in the music industry. A feature cannot, at his level, be used by an artist to induce him to behave inappropriately.
“At this point, no matter who it is, I won’t get sleepless nights because they said this person wants to do a song with me. At this point, it’s not going to feel the same.”
“At this point no feature with any artist will give me sleepless night!” 😀👌@sarkodie feature with Bob Marley is definitely a high we love! https://t.co/p1pFgxHegN pic.twitter.com/kWwrteQK7v
