Frank Annoh-Dompreh, New Patriotic Party Member of Parliament for Nsawam-Adoagyiri, is confident that the Ghanaian cedi would strengthen against the US dollar in the coming days.

According to him, something extraordinary would happen with the Cedi.

“The Cedi has gained 61% of its value against the $… We are set for another historic feat! Yes, we can Ghana,” he tweeted.

In a recent speech, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo promised that government will keep up with the policies that have helped boost the Cedi.

After falling to a low of $13.70 to the Cedi on December 6, 2022, the Cedi has been gaining ground against the dollar and other major trading currencies.

As of Thursday, December 22nd, the Bank of Ghana (BoG) exchange rate put the purchasing rate of the Cedi at GHS8.2959 to a Dollar and the selling rate at GHS8.3042.
