Diana Asamoah Hints At Embarking On Prayer-A-Thon

Diana Asamoah is set to elevate the Guinness World Records attempt by organizing a prayer marathon that is unprecedented and challenging to surpass.

This groundbreaking initiative was revealed during her appearance on the latest episode of the Prime TV show Uinited SHowbiz on UTV.

However, she sadly disclosed that one of her godfathers had asked her to dismiss the idea as unnecessary. Diana mentioned that if she had pulled this off, it would have not only strengthened her brand but also brought people closer to God.

“I recently called one of my godfathers to inform him of my plans to hold a prayer-thon. He asked me to stop. I contacted him because for me, I like to seek counsel before I do anything and he discouraged me and said I should not do it,” she said on United Showbiz.

The first of the many Guinness World Records attempts by Ghanaians started by Afua Asantewaa was not successful after Guinness officials took to their X (Twitter) platform to reveal that she failed in her endeavor.

In an X post on Friday, February 23, 2024, the Guinness World Record said it had rejected her application after reviewing evidence of the  126 hours and 52 minutes of sing-a-thon.

“Unfortunately Afua’s Guinness World Records attempt for the longest singing marathon was not successful, but we hope that she will make another attempt soon. We’ve seen how inspirational it has been for her fans. The evidence check had already begun before Afua requested priority service, so we refunded her payment earlier this month. We wish Afua the best of luck with any future record attempts,” the response by GWR said.

Afua Asantewaa Aduonum, sang from December 24 to December 28, 2023, and has since become a popular figure in entertainment in Ghana.

While awaiting a response from Guinness, she embarked on various media engagements, sharing her experience during the sing-a-thon.
