I Can Also Teach University Students- Akrobeto Pokes Fun At Diana Asamoah

During the latest episode of Real News on Friday, December 8, Akrobeto once again took the opportunity to tease Diana Asamoah in response to her viral comments about her past as a teacher.

While discussing the story, Akrobeto expressed his disappointment with Diana’s claim that she once taught English, geography, and Twi as a pupil teacher many years ago.

In a playful manner, the actor suggested that perhaps all the students she taught had failed miserably under her guidance. Furthermore, he questioned the credibility of her teaching profession due to her apparent lack of proficiency in English.

Continuing his banter, Akrobeto, as monitored by Tru News Report humorously stated that if Diana could be considered a teacher, then he could easily teach university students, as he believed he possessed more knowledge than her.

Diana Asamoah gained significant attention online after disclosing in an interview that she used to work as a teacher. Her recent revelation about her past as a teacher has caused quite a stir on social media, as many people were surprised to learn that Diana had worked as a teacher, given her limited proficiency in the English language.

Some even questioned how she managed to teach her students effectively, given that English is the primary language of instruction in Ghanaian schools. However, others have come to her defence, arguing that proficiency in English is not the only requirement for being a good teacher.

In an interview with Andy Dosty on Hit FM’s morning show, Daybreak Hitz, she said her father, who was a teacher, influenced her to get into teaching after she completed elementary school in 1987.

“You know, in those days, they employed pupil teachers. When I completed school, my father wanted me to learn how to sew clothes in Kumasi but he had not bought the sewing machine and other things I needed at that time, so I thought of selling beans, soap and other items. However, he did not like the idea of me moving around people’s houses to sell. He feared that I could be raped.

“He then told me that a pupil teacher at Saint Monica’s school was going for further studies at the training college so I should go and replace the teacher for the time being. When they noticed that I was doing well, they made me a ‘substitute teacher’ for every teacher that was absent,” she noted.
