Dumsor Must Stop Protest Not Necessary – Majeed Waris Ex-Wife, Habiba Sinare

The former wife of Ghanaian footballer Majeed Waris, Habiba Sinare has made a surprising statement regarding the proposed dumsor, stating that it is unnecessary and will not bring about any change.

Despite the growing agitation among Ghanaians, who are demanding a large-scale demonstration to express their frustration over the worsening power outages, Habiba believes that we should remain patient.

According to her, the government is well aware of the difficulties faced by the country and its citizens, and if they truly intended to address the issue, they would have already taken action. She made this submission on United Television during the recent edition of United Showbiz.

“I won’t join any protest. Who said they don’t know we are suffering? What haven’t we done in this country for the International media to pick it up?

Where are we? We are still where we are and worse. Ghana is a small country and we shouldn’t go through what we are going through.

We are better than this. This dumsor thing there is nothing I can say or do about it because I don’t work at the Ministry of Energy.

But it seems that it’s like we are not entitled to know more, nobody is entitled to explain anything to us, and we deserve better. I prayed for Ghana during Ramadan and I hope we do well,” she said during the interview.

In the same vein, Comedian Waris also caused a stir revolving around the same theme when he said on the same platform that he would only participate in any planned demonstration against the ongoing dumsor if he was paid.

He made it clear on United Showbiz on UTV that if there is no financial incentive, he will not join the protest, even for a worthy cause.

Waris suggested that those organizing the demonstration may have received funding from influential political figures, and therefore, he believes he should receive his fair share before getting involved.

He views the protest as a business partnership rather than a service to the country. He stated:
