Economic Woes: Captain Smart ‘Composes’ Song For Akufo-Addo

Media personality Captain Smart has composed a cover of gospel singer Anita Obeng’s song “M’apim to wit “I’m at the Crossroads,” to President Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo over his admission of the state of the Ghanaian economy.

Captain Smart claims that the President’s acknowledgement of the problems facing the country and his statement implying that he is not the one who will address the problems should serve as a warning to Ghanaians that they should not expect anything from him until he passes over office in January 2025.

After voting for the next party leader on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at the NPP headquarters, President Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo stated that he was aware of the challenges in the country and hoped that the NPP would choose a candidate who would take over and eliminate the difficulties.

“Things are difficult. I’m the first to admit it. I’ve said it several times. I’m the first to admit, and at the end of the day, when the moment comes, Ghanaians will reflect on the best way to get us out of these difficulties and get us to the next stage, and that is the New Patriotic Party,” he said.

After the President’s statement, the host of Onua TV/FM, Captain Smart, claimed the President has no power since he cannot guarantee the people of Ghana that he will personally solve the issues, instead putting the fate of the economy in the hands of whoever the NPP chooses as its flagbearer.
