Essi Finally Uncovered By Ghana Music Awards UK
Ghanaian musician Maame Esi Awotwe, popularly known as Essi, has been nominated for the TAABEA Ghana Music Award UK 2023 in the Uncovered Artiste of the Year category.
The main award ceremony, which is scheduled for October 7, 2023, at the Royal Regency London, named Essi and six other emerging acts as Uncovered Artiste of the Year nominees, including Maya Blu. Cojo Rae, Tripcy, Theo Vesachi, Niashun, Shuga Lord, Vanilla, and Mista Myles.
Reacting to the overwhelming news of her nomination, Essi said, “Let’s win this one fam. @ghanamusicawardsuk thank you for the nomination 🎼

The announcement was made at the launch of the 7th Edition of the annual award, which took place on August 4, 2023, at Labadi Beach Hotel.
This follows the string of excellent songs she’s provided Ghanaians, as well as the songs’ consistency in terms of message and rhythm and their excellent representation of African culture and values.
Her musical career began when she was named the 2012 winner of TV3’s Talented Kids and the 2013 runner-up of TV3’s Born Stars.
Meanwhile, Essi has dropped her debut album, a 14-song collection titled G.O.O.D. Tape Vol. 1. Several of the tracks on Essi’s G.O.O.D. Tape Vol. 1 album promote Ghana’s indigenous Highlife music and are Afrobeat.
The album was recorded live with her new band, Pacs Band, so the songs sound as fresh as the day they were written. The album features Kelvyn Boy, Frenzy Offixial, Trap Boi Flame, Prince Bright, and The Pacs Band (for the live recordings).

As the main awards night approached, Essi’s personal assistant, Aliandra Ackon, couldn’t resist sharing her steadfast faith in Essi’s talent.
“Essi stands out tall amongst all the nominees in the category,” Aliandra declared with conviction.
Her passion, dedication, and authenticity she brings to her music make her a true artiste. I have no doubt she will win the Uncovered Artiste of the Year award,” she said.
Aliandra has been with Essi from the start, observing the countless hours of songwriting, the relentless rehearsals, and the emotional performances that have moulded her career.
She’s witnessed the peaks and valleys, but one thing has always stayed the same: Essi’s steadfast dedication to her art.
