Family Of Ebony Visits Her Grave To Mark 5th Anniversary Of Her Untimely Death

On February 8, 2018, Ghana’s promising Dancehall musician Priscilla Opoku-Kwarteng, better known as Ebony Reigns, passed away.

Franky Kuri and Atsu Vondee, both on their way back to Accra from Kumasi Sunyani, also perished in the horrific car accident that claimed the life of the musician.

Ebony, whose stagecraft and songs earned her the moniker ’90sBadGyal’ in Ghana’s music industry,

Popular among her monster hit songs are “Hustle” and “Kupe,” “Poison,” “Date Ur Fada,” “Sponsor,” “Mame Hwe,” and “Dancefloor.”

Ebony, who was signed to Bullet’s RuffTown Records, passed away a few days before her 21st birthday at the age of 20.

The deceased singer, whose untimely death broke the hearts of many, was regarded as one of Ghana’s brightest stars.

Today, February 8, her family visited her grave to mark the fifth anniversary of her death.

Ebony holds the distinction of being the first woman to win the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards. The posthumous award was received in 2018 by her management.
