Fans Accuse UTV Of Buying ‘Fake Views’ Just To Rival Mcbrown’s Onua Showtime
It has been weeks since Nana Ama Mcbrown departed the stables of Despite Media Group and headed in the opposite direction of Media General and yet the dust surrounding all the drama that came with her ‘exodus’ is yet to settle down.
A few days after Mcbrown’s debut Onua Showtime amassed an unprecedented viewership on Facebook, UTV who felt intimated and somewhat humiliated reportedly did everything to surpass that number and maintain faith with their core fans.
Recall that over 10,000 people tuned in within minutes to watch Mcbrown’s show on Onua TV which streamed live on the official Facebook page of Onua TV on the night of April 30, 2023. This sparked a frenzy online as connoisseurs and fans agreed that the actor cum TV personality is hugely influential.
This inevitably further muddied the discourse as Mcbrown’s replacement at UTV, MzGee became the subject of mockery for lacking the same persona to pull a similar feat.
However, on May 6 2023 during the latest edition of the United Showbiz, statistics from their live stream on Facebook showed UTV had over 26,000 people watching the programme live.
Regardless, the internet is having none of that as some claimed 26k live Facebook views were bogus because they quickly dropped to 14k and then 3k, which should not have happened if real people were watching the show.
