Afia Schwarzenegger Fined Ghc60K & Banned From Social Media For Two Years

Ghanaian media personality Valentina Nana Agyeiwaa popularly known as Afia Schwarzenegger has been fined GH60,000 and banned from any social media for two years by the Tema High Court in a contempt case.

The court additionally fined the celebrity GH5,000, which must be handed to Bernard Antwi Boasiako known as Chairman Wontumi in a contempt action for her defamatory statements. She received a 10-day jail term for her contempt of court offense.

According to sources, Afia Schwarzenegger avoided serving her sentence despite the fact that a branch warrant had been issued for her arrest but she was not present in court to hear the verdict, she expressed regret and sent an official letter of apology to the court.

In addition to having to pay the aforementioned sum, she has reportedly been banned from engaging in any social media platform for the next two years, according to Ghanaweb.

However, on December 20th, 2022, her attorneys filed a motion on notice asking the court to reconsider the sentence.

The Tema Circuit Court also issued GHC 60,000 fines to Nana Ama McBrown, A Plus, Fadda Dickson, and the United Showbiz program’s management for contempt.

This comes after Chairman Wontumi filed a lawsuit against Nana Ama McBrown, Afia Schwarzenegger, Mr. Aplus, Mr. Logic, and the United Showbiz Show’s management for airing a discussion of a court matter between Afia Schwarzenegger and Mr. Chairman Wontumi.

The judge required her to post a 36-month bond of good behavior. During the duration of the bond, she was also ordered to refrain from discussing the issue in public. In the event that she disobeys the court’s directions, she will be brought back for further proceedings.
