“Fred Nuamah Is A Liar I Never Gave Him My Blessing To Contest For Ayawaso West Seat” – John Dumelo

John Dumelo has denied allegations that he encouraged Fred Nuamah to run for the NDC parliamentary seat in Ayawaso West Wuogon.

He claims that Fred Nuamah picked up the forms for the 2024 elections knowing full well that he would be running again to represent the constituency.

In an interview on United Showbiz on UTV, available to Tru News Report, Dumelo disputed Fred Nuamah’s allegations that Dumelo had failed to tell Nuamah about his “second coming” and receive his blessing.

John Dumelo said “Two months ago he called me and said he had heard of my comeback and so he was ready to support my bid to come back. He came to my birthday on February 3, and later in the evening he released his flyer.”

John Dumelo claims that Fred Nuamah sent him a lengthy message detailing the reasons he was also submitting a bid to contest.

“After that he sent me long text message and i said fred never told you im not coming back then he went to pick a form so which blessings did i give, I never gave him my blessings and I never told him in the face that ‘Fred I am not coming back (to Ayawaso) so you can go there’. I never said it, never in any conversation whatsoever,” he said.

“I think this is a betrayal and a stab in the back, especially for someone I’ve known for more than 20 years. he will lost the primaries because if you speak to people they always say they want me to come back and continue the good work hes doing, I didn’t want to speak about this but I needed to clear the air after his statements… he is a liar, and doesnt deserve my blesses” John Dumelo added.

This comes after actor Fred Nuamah stated he was surprised by his colleague John Dumelo’s “u-turn” after announcing he will run for the Ayawaso West Wuogon seat again despite earlier assurances he would not.

Mr. Nuamah revealed in an interview with graphic showbiz that John Dumelo had told him and others that he would no longer run for a seat in the Greater Accra Region.

Fred said, “Truthfully, I am surprised about his U-turn because it was evident and crystal clear that he was not going for the Ayawaso seat anymore and rather invest in Guan/SALL. Frankly, it’s late to step down. My brother informed me and a lot of people that he was not going to contest the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency again. He gave me his blessings when I made up my mind to contest.”

Mr. Nuamah said rather than run against him, “I would have rather expected him to fulfill his word when he said he wouldn’t contest the seat and, therefore, throw his support behind me.”

Fred Nuamah announced his candidature with posters on his social media profiles in early February. Because of their friendship, many wondered if this was a sign that Dumelo would shift his attention elsewhere.

Nevertheless, on Sunday, February 26, 2023, Dumelo tweeted that “After extensive consultation with my God, my family and our party faithful in Ayawaso West Wuogon. This is the second coming.”

The announcement that Fred Nuamah and John Dumelo will be competing to represent Ayawaso West Wuogon on the NDC ticket in the next 2024 election caught Ghanaians by surprise.

John and Fred are good friends and running against each other for the same office in the same party in the same district (Ayawaso West Wuogon) in 2019. Fred was even John’s best man at his 2019 wedding.
