Ghana Needs NDC In These Critical Times – John Mahama On Economic Crisis

Several Central Region delegates of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have publicly stated their intention to vote for former President John Dramani Mahama in the party’s forthcoming presidential primaries. This was during the former president’s three-day campaign visit in the region.

On his first day, he travelled to seven different districts: Awutu Senya East, Awutu Senya West, Gomoa East, Effutu, Gomoa Central, Agona East, and Agona West.

Mr. Mahama spoke at a rally in the middle of the tour, explaining why the NDC needed to take power again now that Ghana’s economy had collapsed because of the mismanagement of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) during Nana Addo and Bawumia’s administration. He said that the NPP’s governmental flaws had been revealed thanks to the NDC’s 2020 electoral defeat.

He claims that when the NDC advised the NPP to go to the International Monetary Fund for help with the economy, the NPP ignored the advice.

Kasoa Junction, hospitals, road networks, delivery of potable water, creation of schools, and so on, Mr. Mahama said, were all examples of the kinds of significant advancements brought to constituents by the NDC under the leadership of the Mills-Mahama administration.

While the NDC was in power, all these important projects were completed, but under Nana Addo-Bawumia, we’ve seen nothing except sod-cutting ceremonies.

He said Ghanaians were in a better position than anybody else to testify to the differences between the NDC and the NPP’s administration of the country.

“NDC is the only alternative party to save the people from the current hardship they are going through. And so, the 2024 election is going to be a ‘Do or Die’ affair. and so we are going to march them boot for boot.” he said.

He assured the public that the NDC would not participate in any deceitful election practises but would openly oppose any attempt by any other party to do so in the upcoming elections, and that the NDC was prepared to work with all stakeholders in the election processes to guarantee free and fair elections.
