Guinness World Records Gives New Update About Afua Asantewaa’s Sing-A-Thon
Guinness World Records has recently provided an update regarding the validation process for Afua Asantewaa’s extraordinary singing marathon, which will determine her eligibility for the world record title.
Ghanaians have shown great interest in this remarkable achievement, bombarding Guinness with inquiries about the timeline for the review and subsequent validation, eager to witness the culmination of Afua’s incredible journey.
Among the curious individuals seeking answers, one enthusiastic fan, overwhelmed with anticipation, inquired about the exact date of the validation.
In response, Guinness World Records has assured the public that they are diligently examining Afua’s evidence and will soon unveil the final results.
This statement from Guinness World Records was prompted by a comment made by a TikTok user, cute_gyebuaxx, on a TikTok post announcing a new record holder.
In response, the World Record stated “We’ve been reviewing Afua’s evidence and will be letting her know the results soon.”
Days after her remarkable singathon attempt, which garnered immense support from the entire country, Afua Asantewaa officially presented her evidence of achievement to the officials of the Guinness World Record.
Asantewaa and her team submitted the video evidence for review and confirmation last Saturday. In an interview with Graphic Online, she expressed her optimism for a positive response in the upcoming days.
It may be recalled that Asantewaa sang continuously for an astonishing 126 hours and 52 minutes, surpassing the previous record of 105 hours set by Indian Sunil Waghmare in 2012.
Initially, she had advertised a 117-hour attempt when she commenced the attempt on December 23, 2023. However, she extended the marathon into the early hours of the sixth day before she concluded it.
She mentioned that she had already submitted several additional documents, such as her media appearances before the attempt. The evidence of the 126 hours and 52 minutes remained as the final requirement to be submitted.
