Gyakie’s Biography

Jackline Acheampong, professionally known as Gyakie, alias Song Bird, is an R&B and afro-fusion artiste from Ghana. Gyakie was born into a musical household, and at the age of eight, she began joining her father in the recording studio.

She was also influenced by Asa and R2Bees member Omar Sterling from Ghana. The father of Gyakie is Nana Acheampong.

Music Career

In February of 2019, Gyakie released her debut single, “Love is Pretty”, followed by “Never Like This.” In August of 2020, she released a five-track EP titled Seed.

The Seed EP track “Forever” received airplay in Ghana, Kenya, and Nigeria. It topped various music rankings, including Billboard’s Top Triller Global and Shazam’s Top 200. In March 2021, Gyakie released a remix of “Forever” featuring Nigerian vocalist Omah Lay.

She has signed an international record deal with Sony Music entertainment, RCA Records UK and Sony Music Africa.

During the 3Music Women’s luncheon in March 2022, Gyakie was named the Woman of the Year for the 3Music Awards 2022.

Gyakie was featured in the Grammys Herbal tea and white sofas interview in June 2022, a new series in which artists disclose their backstage essentials.

In July of 2022, she released her second EP titled ”MY DIARY. The EP” features Davido, a Nigerian musician.
