Former wife of retired footballer Kaka, Caroline Celico has told reporters that she decided to end their marriage because she felt that the AC Milan icon was ‘too perfect’ for her.
In her words, despite Kaka treating her well, Celico believed that his perfection was a challenge for their relationship.
Celico and Kaka, who were childhood sweethearts, were married for a decade and had two children before mutually agreeing to divorce.
Celico mentioned that she sensed a void in their relationship due to Kaka’s perceived perfection as a Brazilian icon.
On the reason for their divorce, Celico said, according to The Sun: “Kaka never betrayed me, he treated me well, he gave me a wonderful family, but I was not happy, something was missing. The problem was, he was too perfect for me.”
Following their divorce in 2015, both Celico and Kaka have moved on and remarried.
Kaka began a relationship with his current partner, Carolina Dias, in 2017, and they now share a daughter. The 41-year-old recently revealed their engagement and shared that they will soon be organizing their wedding.
