I Blew Him Away- Yul Edochie Reveals How He Finally Got His Flowers From His Legendary Father Pete Edochie

Nollywood actor and director Yul Edochie has shared one of the most significant career lessons he learned from his father, Pete Edochie.

As he approaches the zenith of his profession, Yul disclosed that this is an endorsement from his father, Pete Edochie, who has been on set with him and his second wife Judy Austin.

In a post on Instagram which has become popular with his fans, the deep-voiced actor revealed how his father’s most crucial piece of advice, which was to go back to acting and continue learning before becoming a director has finally yielded dividends.

He said back in 2005 and fresh out of university, he directed his debut movie but his father who he arguably described as the best actor in Africa thought he needed to sharpen his skills by becoming an actor instead. Yul took his advice to heart and immersed himself in acting, becoming one of Africa’s top actors as a result.

He shared a video of the moment his father blessed him alongside the following caption on Instagram;

The high point of my career. Getting a endorsement from the man who gave birth to me. The Legend and biggest name in Nollywood Chief Pete Edochie.

In 2005, fresh out of Theatre Arts Department, University of Port Harcourt. I directed my first movie which starred Chief Pete Edochie. After the money my father said I tried though but it would be best of I go fully into acting. learn more as an actor before coming back to directing.

I agreed.

As a man who loves challenges, I took it upon myself to make a mark in Nollywood as an actor. So I went into acting fully and established myself as one of the greatest actors in Africa. 2023, I directed my father again in the movie THE GODFATHER and I blew him away with my artistic prowess and leadership skills.
He finally gave me my accolades.
I earned it”.
