Gyakie Shades Sister In Interview When Asked About Her Music Career

Singer Gyakie has subtly shaded her sister, who is also an up-and-coming artist, attempting to follow in the footsteps of their legendary father, Nana Acheampong.

It appears that Gyakie desires to be the only torchbearer of her father’s musical legacy.

Therefore, when asked about her sister Sheila Acheampong’s prospects in the industry, Gyakie confidently stated to the TV3 interviewer that she is the only artiste carrying on their father’s musical heritage.

“I’m the only artiste from my dad so let’s move on,” when she was asked if her sister is an artiste.

In the past, Shiela has made it clear that she can succeed in the music industry without needing an endorsement from her father Nana Achaeampong or her sister.

She is on record to have said in an interview that it would be an honour if she can replicate what her sister Gyakie and father Nana Acheamping have done in the music industry.

“It would be amazing to have that but then…let me think about this question well, I don’t want to commit a blunder. With the Abedi Peles’, Dede Ayew tried his best to make people know him for who he is…his dad groomed him but he rose to fame with his own works.

“I’d love it (endorsement) but I would want to build it myself. I already have the foundation so I want to work on the building. Let them support me and the endorsement can follow…I want something like that,” she said.

“I would be very very happy if my dad was like Sheila, this song, look at it. I would be like Owoahene wrote this song for me and I am singing it to you. That would be the introduction,” the singer told GhanaWeb in an interview.
