I Did Not Become A Lawyer – Shatta Wale Reveals Biggest Regret In Life

During a recent interview, Shatta Wale discussed his latest collaboration with Nigerian artist Tekno and shed light on another aspect of his musical identity.

In a Q&A session, he was asked about his greatest regret in life, to which he promptly responded that he had aspired to become a lawyer in his youth, but fate had other plans for him.

He expressed remorse for not pursuing that path. Additionally, he shared his enthusiasm for incorporating Afrobeats into his music, as evidenced by his work with Tekno.

“I don’t want to be hard on this journey that I want to pursue,” he told the BBC. “I want to be loving… I want people to really see my fun side, my hilarious moments, my happiness. I just want people to know that I am happy now and I want to share that with the world.

“Afrobeats is doing good right now – shout out to Burna [Boy], Wiz[kid], Davido and Tiwa Savage.

“It’s like I’ve graduated from dancehall. I just want to feed the fans with what is currently happening so they can all enjoy good music.”

Meanwhile, Shatta Wale has meanwhile commended Kenya’s President William Ruto for his recent announcement that visa requirements for all Africans visiting Kenya will soon be eliminated.

The renowned Ghanaian Dancehall artist shared a video of Mr. Ruto’s speech, in which he emphasized the importance of unrestricted travel within the African continent. Ruto’s decision to lift visa requirements by 2023 aims to enhance trade relations between African countries and reduce customs tariffs to promote the African Continental Free Trade Area.

“By the end of this year, no African will need a visa to enter Kenya. The time has come to understand the importance of doing trade between us,” said Ruto, while speaking at the summit of the world’s three major forest basins, namely the Amazon, Congo, and Borneo-Mekong Forest Basins, in Brazzaville, the capital of the Republic of the Congo.

“It is time we realize the importance of trading among ourselves and allowing goods, services, people and ideas to move freely across the continent,” he said, adding that trade among East African Community countries had grown significantly due to the removal of visa requirements and tariffs.

Shatta Wale shared the clip from Kennedy Wandera, a journalist from Kenya on his Twitter page, alongside core points from the president’s speech. Click here to read more.
