I Forgot My Lyrics When I Saw My Crush, Kuame Eugene—Afua Asantewaa

Afua Asantewaa has made the surprising revelation that Kuame Eugene is her ultimate celebrity crush.

She confessed that she found it extremely difficult to concentrate when Kuame Eugene made an appearance at Akwaaba village during his sing-a-thon quest a few days ago, where she was attempting to break the record for the longest singing marathon by an individual.

According to Afua, the mere sight of ‘Rockstar’ affected her ability to recall the lyrics, especially when he came to show his support for her, adding to the number of other renowned celebrities and distinguished personalities who visited her.

During a recent interview with Joy Prime, Afua Asantewaa disclosed that her husband is well aware of her deep admiration for Kuami Eugene, which explains why she often performs most of his songs.

Kuame Eugene

“I said that guy came and I could not remember my lyrics. I said ‘this guy has worried me.’ If Guinness people don’t give me the record, it’s Kuami Eugene.

“My husband knows so when he got there I said ‘Kuami you have worried me. You shouldn’t have come. I sang ‘Asuoden’ and you know his rap comes after. As I stood there, I did everything I couldn’t remember,” she said.

Afua Asantewaa technically surpassed the previous record holder by breaking the longest singing marathon by an individual, surpassing the 105-hour mark by clocking 126 hours and 52 minutes.

This remarkable achievement was accomplished through a five-day event that commenced precisely at midnight on Sunday, December 24th and concluded on December 29th, 2023.

Afua views this as a wonderful opportunity to showcase exceptional Ghanaian music to the world. She has committed to exclusively performing local music throughout her record-breaking attempt.

Her sing-a-thon event garnered immense support from thousands of music enthusiasts and well-wishers, including mainstream celebrities in Ghana, who gathered at Akwaaba Village to show solidarity and witness this historic moment.

As part of the evidence, Miss Asantewaa mentioned that she is required to document all her practice sessions, preparations, and interviews, which will be included in the final video of her attempt.
