Jo Koy To Host 2024 Golden Globe Awards

The Golden Globes made a captivating announcement on Thursday that the esteemed comedian Jo Koy will be taking center stage as the host for the 81st ceremony, scheduled to air on CBS on January 7.

Expressing his excitement in a statement, the 52-year-old Jo Koy said, “I’ve stepped onto a lot of stages around the world in my career, but this one is going to be extra special. I’m so excited to be hosting the Golden Globes this year. This is that moment where I get to make my Filipino family proud. Mahal Kita (Google it)!”

Golden Globes President Helen Hoehne also shared the enthusiasm, stating, “We are thrilled to have Jo host the 81st annual Golden Globe Awards and bring his infectious energy and relatable humor to kick off Hollywood’s award season. Mark your calendars for the live broadcast of the 2024 Golden Globe Awards on CBS on January 7, from 8 to 11 p.m. ET, directly following an NFL on CBS Sunday doubleheader. The show will also be available for streaming on Paramount+ and the CBS app.

The 2024 Golden Globe Awards will introduce two new categories: cinematic and box office achievement in motion pictures and best stand-up comedian on television. Barbie leads the films with nine nominations, followed by Oppenheimer with eight, and Killers of the Flower Moon and Poor Things with seven each. On the television side, Succession’s final season received a total of nine nominations.
