Kanye Wears Black KKK Hood At Album Listening Party

Kanye West made a bold fashion statement during the listening event for his joint album with Ty Dolla $ign, causing quite a stir on the internet.

The renowned Chicago rapper and the talented California crooner unveiled their collaborative project, Vultures, at an outdoor “rave” held at Miami’s Wynwood Marketplace in the early hours of Tuesday morning (December 12). The event was also live-streamed online, attracting a significant audience.

Towards the conclusion of their performance, Kanye West took the stage donning a black version of the hood famously associated with the Ku Klux Klan, a white supremacist group. This distinctive black mask had previously made an appearance in his animated music video for “Black Skinhead” from his 2013 album, Yeezus.

This is not the first instance where West has incorporated KKK imagery into his artistic endeavors. In his music video for the 2013 track “Black Skinhead,” which is stylized as “BLKK SKKKN HEAD” on YouTube, he prominently features illustrations of the same black hoods.

While his previous use of this notorious symbol may have been seen as provocative a decade ago, the recent association of West with far-right conservatives and his string of antisemitic remarks have cast a different light on his latest stunt. Shortly before facing backlash and losing partnerships due to his anti-Jewish rants, West was seen wearing a “White Lives Matter” shirt during his YZY fashion show last year.

Despite the controversies surrounding him, West’s new music has generated excitement online, with fans eagerly anticipating the album’s numerous high-profile collaborations.

The joint project between West and Ty Dolla $ign, operating under the moniker ¥$, will be released independently following West’s departure from Def Jam Recordings. The album is scheduled to be released on Friday.
