KiDi Grants First Interview After VGMAs Performace And Addresses Stroke Rumours

Days after wowing his fans at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs) to put to bed stroke rumours purported to have afflicted him, KiDi has granted an interview to officially speak about the wild speculations that dominated social and mainstream media weeks ago.

The 2022 VGMA Artiste of the Year recently shared a message on Facebook debunking the unsubstantiated report alongside a video which saw him depicting a calm demeanour while standing by a water body and sipping a cup of tea.

His message reads;

A little under two months ago, I made the painful decision of cancelling my tour to take care of my health that included taking time off social media. In that time, I have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of love from family, friends, fans and the brands i work with. You all made me feel incredibly loved in this difficult period and i cant appreciate you enough.

Unfortunately, a few bad actors took this as an opportunity to spread false stories that got a lot of you very concerned. While i do not want to give it any more attention, i want to categorically address that those stories were false.

I am glad to be back to doing what i love most; creating music and performing for you. Thanks for sticking it out with me.

Love, KiDi

Not long ago, Richie Mensah, the head of Lynx Entertainment, denied rumours that KiDi is suffering from a stroke.

Unverified rumours making rounds widely on social media in the last couple of hours have it that the serial hitmaker was down with a stroke. The unsubstantiated report saw KiDi tipping the trends on Twitter thereby sending panic and anxiety among his fans.

However, his boss Richie said there was no iota of truth in the rumours. KiDi hasn’t had a stroke. Ignore the rumours and the clickbait,” he said in a Tweet on March 16, 2023.

The rumours gained ground after KiDi cancelled his American tour over health concerns in late February this year. In a corresponding post he had previously shared on his social media pages, he said;

It is with a very heavy heart that I announce the postponement of my Golden Boy North American Tour. I understand how incredibly disappointing this news is for a lot of you. The excitement that so many of you expressed about coming out to see me on this tour was heartwarming and I was really looking forward to this experience together.

I’ve had to make this decision to postpone the tour due to health issues and I want you to know that this decision was not made lightly. A tour of this magnitude and level of commitment it will take may put me at risk of further damage to my health.

I want to ensure that whenever we meet on tour, it will be an experience worth everything you’ve given me as an artist and I can only do that if I am in much better health than I am now. Apologies to all of my fans and Duke Concept. Thank you for your incredible support. I love you all so much for everything you’ve given me and continue to give me.

Beyond that, KiDi put up an amazing performance at the just-ended VGMAs to consolidate the fact that he is doing well.

Per this new development, KiDi is heard saying in a fresh interview saying. “I don’t have a stroke, it’s one of the craziest things I ever heard,” he said in the video below and added that ” I want to state categorically, I do not have a liver disease.”
