Kofi Abban Calls Kojo Antwi A Complete Joke For Asking Ghanaians For A Million Pounds To Honor His Late Father

Kofi Amoa-Abban, a businessman, has criticized renowned highlife artist Kojo Antwi after learning that he set up a GoFundMe to raise £1,000,000 in honour of his late father.

Kojo Antwi had requested a million-pound memorial donation in honour of his late father. Critics in Ghana were quick to respond negatively to the highlife musician’s humble request.

According to the description of the fundraiser, the money raised will go toward a scholarship and disability program for those who are less fortunate.

In memory of my late kind father, this GoFundMe is for scholarships and care for a selection of orphans and the disabled in Ghana from now up till they graduate or learn a trade. – With love and togetherness from The Maestro Kojo Antwi.

Amoa-Abban was swift in his criticism of Kojo Antwi’s behaviour. He criticized him for “using his father’s death as a fundraising opportunity,” saying it was inappropriate for a public figure to act in such a way.

He thinks Kojo Antwi, as a popular musician, could have easily paid for the funeral and burial costs on his own. Furthermore, he should not accept the memorial contributions from the Ghanaian people.

Mr. Abban posted this alongside a link to the GoFundMe page “Kojo Antwi is a complete joke!!! You want £1,000,000 to bury your late dad, Have you ever done a free concert for your loyal fans in Ghana ??? Sell three of your properties in Accra to fund your dads funeral” he said.
