Kojo Yankson’s Biography

Kojo Yankson was born in Cape Coast to two educators; his mother was a Fante instructor and his father was a zoology professor. He was the only boy among two sisters while growing up.

Education

Kojo Yankson attended the elementary schools of the University of Cape Coast before enrolling at St. Augustine’s College. In 2001, he graduated from the University of Cape Coast (UCC), where he majored in Business Management Studies. During his time at UCC, he also worked for the now-defunct Radio Valco. He subsequently travelled to the United Kingdom to pursue further study in Estate Development at the University of Nottingham. Kojo Yankson is a Ghanaian journalist for Joy FM and the host of the main program, Super Morning Show. He is also a media figure who appears on their television station JoyNews.

Career

Before returning to Ghana, Kojo Yankson worked as a real estate developer in Nottingham for a number of years. Upon his return, he began a career in radio as the morning host at ATL FM. Following a couple of months at ATL FM, the Multimedia Group recruited Kojo Yankson to host the Joy FM Super Morning Show. His debut episode aired on April 7, 2014.

After a series of issues, Kojo Yankson was removed from the Joy SMS in February 2018 in order to host the AM Show on Joy TV and occasionally appear as a news anchor on JoyNews and the Pulse.

In May 2020, however, Kojo Yankson returned to radio as the host of the Super Morning Show. The introduction motivating “Messages from the Morning Man” for which Kojo Yankson has written almost 400 stories best defines his writing style.
