Lamid Parts Ways With Highly Spiritual Music
Rapper and singer Lasmid has left Highly Spiritual Music owned by veteran producer Kaywa.
On Sunday, June 4, 2023, the Chief Executive Officer of the label Kaywa acknowledged the departure during a brief interview with Andy Dosty on Adom TV’s ShowTym. He offered a suggestion that despite their back-and-forth discussions, Lasmid’s decision was influenced by certain internal problems.
“The conversation with Lasmid has been a back and forth but it was way before VGMA. He started trumpeting ‘I want to go, I want to go’ a long time ago. There is a back story but I wouldn’t wanna make it public,” he said.
Kawya, however, assured fans that at the right time, the entire truth would be spilt to bring clarity to the whole messy saga.
Over the years, the Highly Spiritual Record label housed other mainstream artistes like Kurl Songs, Yaw Berk, Krymi and King Maaga but they all left to explore other opportunities externally, sometimes fraught with disagreements.
Is Lasmid signed by Naira Marley?
Nigerian artiste Naira Marley expressed interest in adding Lasmid, a promising singer, to his record company back in 2022.
The singer expressed his admiration for the new generation of Ghanaian musicians in an interview with Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz, saying that they are making significant progress with their music. The ‘Soapy’ hitmaker continued by praising Lasmid, the 2019 MTN Hitmaker winner.
With the release of his most recent song, “Friday Night,” the young musician has become one of the most sought-after artistes presently. Lasmid’s music is fantastic, and Naira Marley informed Andy Dosty that he would want to sign him to his Marlians record label alongside Zinoleesky and Mohbad.
“There are a lot of new Ghanaian artistes coming up that are serious and there are some of them I am trying to sign. I think they are already signed but I would really like to sign some of them,” Naira Marley said.
