Late Akwaboah’s Wife Exposes GHAMRO As She Confirms Akosua Agyapong’s GHC250 Donation Claim
Tru News Report reported in May that veteran singer and dancer, Akosua Agyapong made a revelation that the late Kwadwo Akwaboah Snr received a pitiful sum of money from GHAMRO to pay for his medical care.
According to Akosua, Akwaboah Snr. contacted the GHAMRO office and requested additional funds in order to purchase drugs, but was only given 250.00.
“Abraham Adjetey, the man who steals our monies, had the nerve to give this man GH¢250,” she fumed. She said amidst allegations she could not provide evidence to substantiate her claims.
“Kwadwo Akwaboah lamented to me bitterly about the development because he isn’t the type that makes unnecessary demands so he felt he wasn’t treated fairly.
“He wanted to send the money back to them but the mode through which they sent it made it somewhat impossible.
So, I want to ask GHAMRO whether they will be able to come for Akwaboah’s one-week observation or even a funeral after all these. He wasn’t born blind. He was a very good keyboardist and I have worked with him before,” she added.
GHAMRO has since denied the allegations made by Akosua Agyapong.
In an interview on Onua TV’s Maakye programme with Captain Smart, Akosua and the late Akwaboah Snr’s wife detailed the veteran singer’s ordeal prior to his death.
According to the wife, it is true that her deceased husband requested assistance from GHAMRO in order to purchase drugs. It is also true that the money sent to the late singer was Gh¢250.00 as asserted by Akosua Agyapong, vindicating her.
