Lionel Messi Purchases 35 Gold Personalised iPhones Worth £175k For World Cup-Winning Argentina Teammates & Staff

Lionel Messi has reportedly ordered gold iPhones for Argentina’s World Cup-winning squad and staff, which are reportedly worth £175,000.

The Albiceleste won in Qatar 2022, with Messi putting in yet another talismanic performance as captain. The seven-time Ballon d’Or winner, who recently won the FIFA Best Men’s Player of the Year award, finally got his hands on the one team prize he craved the most when Argentina beat France in one of the most thrilling World Cup finals in December.

To commemorate that achievement, PSG superstar Lionel Messi has teamed up with IDESIGN GOLD to gift all of his teammates and Argentina’s coaching staff with 24-carat Apple devices, with a substantial shopping haul successfully delivered to Paris.

Ben Lyons, CEO of iDesign Gold, has told The Sun: “Lionel is not only the Goat but he’s one of IDESIGN GOLD’s most loyal customers and got in touch with us a couple of months after the World Cup final.

He said he wanted a special gift for all the players and staff to celebrate the amazing win but didn’t want the usual gift of watches. So, I suggested gold iPhones inscribed with their names, and he loved the idea.”

Messi was awarded the Golden Ball at the 2022 World Cup, which honours the tournament’s best player, and he continues to inspire those around him – and a legion of loyal followers around the world numbering in the millions – with his exploits at the age of 35.

In addition, Messi was recently named FIFA Men’s Player of the Year for the second time. Messi, 35, won the award again after inspiring Argentina to their third World Cup victory with seven goals during the tournament. Messi saw off competition from PSG team-mate Kylian Mbappe and Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema to win the award.
