Reports Suggest Lionel Messi Seriously Considering Return To FC Barcelona

According to multiple sources, Lionel Messi, the Argentine footballer, and his entourage are no longer ruling out a return to FC Barcelona.

There is no official statement from Lionel Messi regarding his return to FC Barcelona. However, according to reports from Catalan radio, Messi believes that the Camp Nou is his home, and his signing is now a possibility this summer. The Spanish radio also reports that Messi is seriously considering a return to Barcelona, not just for personal reasons but because he sees a good sporting opportunity.

Messi spent 21 years at Barcelona, where he won numerous titles, including ten La Liga titles and four Champions League titles. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest footballers of all time.

Messi’s potential return to Barcelona would be a significant boost for the club, which has struggled in recent years. Barcelona has not won the Champions League since 2015 and has not won La Liga since 2019.

Messi’s return would also be a boost for the club’s finances, as he is one of the most marketable footballers in the world.

Messi’s contract with Paris Saint-Germain expires at the end of the season, and he has not yet signed a new contract with the club.

Barcelona’s president, Joan Laporta, has previously stated that he would like to bring Messi back to the club. Laporta was the president of Barcelona when Messi first joined the club in 2003. He has stated that he believes Messi is the best player in the world and that he would do everything in his power to bring him back to Barcelona.

Lionel Messi’s departure from FC Barcelona was due to the club’s financial difficulties. Barcelona was in debt for €1.35 billion following years of overspending and the financial ramifications of the COVID-19 pandemic. The club could not afford to give Messi a new contract, and he had to leave the club. Messi joined French side Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer in 2021.

In a recent interview, Messi stated that he had no choice but to leave Barcelona after being told it was impossible to renew his contract.
