Lionel Messi Threatened After Gunmen Shoot Up His Wife’s Family Store In Rosario, Argentina

In a shocking incident, two unidentified men on a motorcycle fired at least a dozen shots into the grocery store owned by the family of Lionel Messi in Argentina.

The assailants left a note threatening the soccer superstar, saying, “We’re waiting for you, Messi.” It is unclear whether or not the soccer star was the target of the attackers’ threat.

The note left for Messi.

The Unico supermarket, located in Rosario, is owned by the family of Messi’s wife, Antonella Roccuzzo. Thankfully, no one was seriously injured in the attack, though one of Messi’s in-laws sustained minor injuries.

Although police have not yet identified suspects, it is believed that the attack was drug-related. The local police believe that the attackers had a specific target in mind within the store. The assault occurs only days after Messi scored his 700th career goal for Barcelona FC.

Messi has remained silent regarding the incident. He has, however, previously expressed his affection for Rosario and how it will always be his home. Additionally, he maintains close ties with his wife’s family and frequently visits them in Argentina. However, he and his family are likely extremely concerned about the safety of his in-laws and their business.

The senseless attack on Messi’s in-laws’ store has shocked the soccer world, and many are calling for a thorough investigation. Meanwhile, the soccer star has splashed gold iPhones on Argentina’s World Cup-winning squad and staff, which are reportedly worth £175,000.
