Mahama ‘Grateful’ For NDC’s Failure In 2020 Elections

John Dramani Mahama, a former president of Ghana and presidential candidate for the opposition party, has publicly expressed his gratitude to God that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) did not win the 2020 general elections.

He claimed that the NDC would have had to deal with the current economic situation, which has resulted in haircuts and the nation turning to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for a bailout.

Following his victory in the NDC presidential primaries last week, he held a thanksgiving service at the Ringway Gospel Centre Assemblies of God on Sunday, May 21. There, he said, “In 2020 again, we went for the elections and we lost.

“Again, we came here after the Supreme Court case, and we gave thanks to God for his mercy and for protecting us. As I said, our ways are not his ways, but in hindsight, when I think about it, we owe him a debt of gratitude that we didn’t win in 2020; we would have been giving him these haircuts and all these IMF wahala. God said, this is not the time, my children; you stand aside, and we know that he will make things well in his own time,” he said.
