Menzgold Issues GH₵‎5m To Be Given To Customers

Menzgold has recently allocated an impressive sum of GH₵‎5 million to the Ghana Police Service in order to initiate the payment process for its valued customers.

The Ghana Police Service has been entrusted with the responsibility of overseeing the payment distribution to those customers who have diligently followed the prescribed protocols and validation procedures.

This payment initiative signifies a significant step forward in addressing the long-standing concerns of individuals who have experienced the unfortunate situation of having their investments locked. Menzgold has emphasized that this payment procedure will exclusively cater to clients who have conscientiously adhered to the stipulated procedures throughout the settlement process.

To ensure a smooth and efficient payment process, Menzgold has urged eligible customers to strictly adhere to the specific dates provided to them during the completion of the necessary forms. Menzgold will collaborate with the police by providing them with a comprehensive list of customers scheduled to receive payments, thereby facilitating a seamless disbursement process.

The forthcoming disbursements are anticipated to bring a profound sense of relief and closure to the concerns of Menzgold’s esteemed clientele, marking a positive turning point for both the company and its dedicated customers.

The statement reads:

Following a successful transactions verification exercise conducted from the 10th August, 2023 to 14th September, 2023, we are happy to note that, five million Ghana cedis (GHC5,000,000), which constitutes our first bulk payment batch has been successfully made.

Additionally, full refund of the 82 clients who purchased the Menzgold verification Digital Access card prior to our Company’s grant of same for free shall be completed tomorrow, 21st October, 2023. Please be advised that, of the GHC5,000,000 first payment tranche, GHC2,500,000 is for the account of a full and final settlement of a compromised judgment debt, to certain Menzgold indebted to individuals, in a suit No. CM/RPC/0835/2019:

The High Court of Ghana, Commercial Division, Accra. Whereas; the other GHC2,500,000 is in favour of over one hundred individuals. Based on the above, it can safely be noted that, the payments range is between GHC4,000 to GHC2,500,000.

May I congratulate all Menzgold cherished clients, well-wishers and the general public, as we give thanks to the almighty God for this noble feat.

I further humbly urge all to note, that we shall continue to count on your fervent prayers, kind cooperation, support and constructive criticisms when need be, as we strive to achieve a zero percent (0%) Menzgold debt-liability, God willing before the end of the next calendar year. Thank you for your kind cooperation and understanding in this matter.

Meanwhile, in a distressing development following the ongoing Menzgold controversy, it has come to light that customers have endured significant hardships since the closure of the company in 2018.

Tragically, 217 individuals have lost their lives, while others have gone blind and have mental health issues.

In light of these distressing circumstances, the leadership of the former Menzgold customers has sought the assistance of former President John Dramani Mahama in their efforts to recover their funds, which remain inaccessible due to the illicit nature of the gold trading and investment enterprise.

During a meeting held at the former President’s office in Cantonments on Friday, Mr. Fred Forson, the group’s leader and spokesperson, passionately appealed to Mr. Mahama, emphasizing the dire nature of their predicament and their urgent need for financial assistance from the government.

“We believe that when Your Excellency adds your voice, it will help. Where we are now, we need a bailout from the state, so we humbly call on you to lead us in calling on the state to give us a bailout plan. Because life is very, very unbearable for us”,

“The state has wasted over four years on this small matter. There was no action. I am sure everybody will attest that it was the resilience of the customers we kept on pressing, pressing and now the Attorney-General has moved the matter from the lower court to the High Court. However, the civil aspect, which is the retrieval of our money, is still pending.” Read more here.
