Movement For Justice Ask GRA To Investigate Okudzeto Ablakwa For Unregistered Company And Unpaid Taxes

The Movement For Justice – Ghana, a watchdog organization, has asked the Registrar of Companies and the Commissioner-General of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) to look into allegations that Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa ran a business without registering it and failed to pay taxes.

According to documents posted by The Pokuase Mail, the Group is asking the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) for details regarding tax returns filed by Mr. Ablakwa for his company, Volta Klenam Farms and Industries Ltd, which the Group claims is not registered with the GRA and has not paid any taxes since its incorporation in 2021.

Furthermore, the group requests that the Authority look into where Mr. Ablakwa got the roughly GHC500,000 he allegedly paid in cash for his shares in the company (Volta Klenam Farms and Industries Limited) when he incorporated it, as well as any taxes that may have been paid on the transaction.

Moreover, the team had a question about Savvi Solutions, another business in which Mr. Ablakwa has invested.

The company owned by Mr. Ablakwa and his wife, Nuhela Seidu, has allegedly fallen behind on its tax payments, as evidenced by the letters filed.

The Pokuase Mail’s repeated efforts to get a hold of Mr. Ablakwa for comment were fruitless.
An aide to the MP, however, says the lawmaker was briefed on the group’s plans late last week.

Even though Mr. Ablakwa agrees with the group’s ethos in theory, he views the current investigation as a vindictive intrusion into his personal life, the source claims.
