My Dad Is Very Humble, I Learned So Much From Him- Davido Reveals

In a recent Forbes article wherein Davido covered the latest issue of Forbes’ Afrobeats All-Star; Pioneering The New Global Sound, the Nigerian superstar revealed some traits he learnt from his father and how it has greatly influenced his life.

The singer who is also a proud father of three said his religious inclination is something he picked from his father and as such he doesn’t joke with prayers at all. According to him, he and his team pray before going on stage to perform.

Beyond that, the music executive and serial hitmaker said his father is humble despite his riches.

Davido said he learned a lot from his father, Mr Adedeji Adeleke, particularly with regard to his embrace of Christianity and living a humble life.

The music executive said; “I learned so much from being around my dad, watching him in the office, hearing him on the phone, seeing how he handled life. He’s very humble, principled and a strong Christian. Before I step on any stage, my team knows not to mess with my prayers.”

Not too long ago, Davido opened up on his relationship with his industry colleague and perceived rival Burna Boy.

He claimed that although they no longer communicate frequently, they used to be very good friends contrary to how the media portrays their relationship and the corresponding friction between their fans.

Having appeared on the Morning Show on Hot 97FM in New York, Davido, who was interviewed by Ebro, claimed that he and Burna get along well.

The DMW boss added that the self-professed African Giant occasionally checks on him, particularly during and after his period of grieving. It will be recalled that the duo’s animosity reached a crescendo after an altercation at a nightclub in Ghana in 2020.

Interestingly, Davido said that the argument from that fateful night was between their crew members and not between either of them.

“Funny enough, it wasn’t even us. It was our people [team]. It was crazy because it didn’t even involve us,” he said.

Speaking on unity among Afrobeats artists, OBO said; “Afrobeats [artists] we are in unity. I spoke to Burna [Boy]. He called me. He calls me as well but we’ve not really spoken like that.”

On whether he plans to resolve his issues with the self-acclaimed African Giant, Davido said; “I think I definitely would. He [Burna Boy] called me. Wiz [Kid] called me. And funny enough, me and Burna used to be mad close. Very very close.”

Ifeanyi was submerged underwater, first noticed by the cleaning staff. A source from the Davido family says that the tot was in the water for a long time. So, they pulled him and rushed him to the hospital, but unfortunately, it was too late.
