Nigeria Election 2023: Peter Obi Wins In A Polling Unit In Ago, Lagos And A Unit Close To Tinubu’s Voting Point

Peter Obi, presidential candidate for the Labour Party, has won a polling unit that is geographically near Bola Tinubu, presidential candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC), and in unit O55 Keke Abimbola, Ago, Lagos State.

In voting location 052, Ward 3, Alausa, Ikeja, nine people voted for Obi, while Tinubu received just eight votes, making him a distant second. The unit had a total of 62 accredited voters, but only 19 actually showed up to vote.

Two members of the unit cast their ballots for People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate Atiku Abubakar. Tinubu was the governor of Lagos State for two terms, and he still has a lot of power in the politics of the city. 

And Peter Obi also won a polling place in O55 Keke Abimbola, Ago, Lagos State, with 122 votes, while his closest rival, Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), only managed to get 9 votes.

ZLP received three votes, while the People’s Democratic Party’s (PDP) Alhaji Atiku Abubakar received zero.

On Saturday, operatives from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, stopped a lady named Maryam Mamman Alhaji in the Badarwa area of Kaduna state who was carrying 18 Permanent Voter’s Cards, PVCs.

The EFCC’s Kaduna Zonal Office is questioning her about her gang’s other members, who she says gather voter cards and make payments by PoS or direct bank transfers.
