Nigerian Feminists Are Witches—Tacha

Tacha has made headlines with a controversial statement online, implying that feminists in Nigeria are witches. According to her, the type of feminism practiced by Nigerians is unfamiliar to her and resembles witchcraft.

This statement was made during an interview with Chude Jideonwo, where she discussed her previous clash with internet personality, Deborah Olabisi, also known as Mummy Zee.

It all started when Tacha, during a podcast with Phyna, criticized Mummy Zee for waking up at 4:30 am to cook for her husband, deeming it unacceptable.

A Twitter user drew the attention of Mummy Zee that the BBNaija alumni was insulting her on a show and the pregnant woman responded; “That one werey no get sense.”

However, addressing the controversy during her chat with Chude, Tacha denied Deborah’s accusation, stating that she was defending herself on the show.

She stressed that her version of feminism is different from the ‘witchcaft’ that is practiced in Nigeria, and that is what she was trying to make people understand.

Tacha said; “So, I was literally praising this woman on my show, saying why was feminists trolling her because I love feminism then.

“I was like the feminism you people practiced in Nigeria is witchcraft because when you are supposed to come out you people won’t come out but for the wrong things you just hate men in general. That’s not what I practiced.”
