Mohbad’s Death: Olamide, Davido, Other celebs Pay Tribute To Late Afrobeats Star

Nigerian celebs are currently grieving the loss of Ilerioluwa Olademeji Aloba, a musician who was widely known as Mohbad.

The former signee of Marlian Music reportedly passed away on Tuesday, September 12, at the age of 27. In response to this tragic news, artiste Olamide, Davido, and other entertainers have expressed their condolences through heartfelt eulogies.

Olamide shared a heartbreak emoji and wrote, “Damn! Mohbad.” Meanwhile, Davido uploaded a candlelight emoji as a tribute to the late singer.

On-Air-Personality, Do2dtun shared a picture of their last moment together.

He wrote: Mohbad. This was just two days ago.

Singer Iyanya in a post on his X handle wrote: RIP Mohbad your Journey on Earth will never be forgotten. May God receive you in His Holy Hands.

BBNaija reality star and media personality, Natacha Akide, popularly known as Tacha in a post on X wrote: MohBad, Life is just too short. Mohbad was just on the Big Friday show with me last month. This news is heavy and I still can’t believe it.

CKay in a post on his official X wrote: No one should have to go through this. RIP Mohbad.

MohBad, a Nigerian rapper, singer, and songwriter hailing from Lagos, gained recognition for his hit singles “Ponmo, Feel Good,” and “KPK (Ko Por Ke)” (You Will Always Be Remembered) with Rexxie, which received three nominations for The Headies awards in 2022.

He was formerly signed to Naira Marley’s Marlian Records but left the label in 2022. In the fourth quarter of 2020, MohBad released his debut album, Light, as a follow-up to his viral song “Ponmo,” featuring Naira Marley and Lil Kesh.

He received five nominations for The Beatz Awards 2021 and was listed in Audiomack’s top 21 Afrobeat artistes of 2021. In 2022, MohBad released Peace, produced by Rexxie, and peaked on TurnTable charts top 50 in 2021 and top 100 in 2022. His contributions to the Nigerian music industry will always be remembered.
